Bookmark Nominated for AppleVis Hall of Fame

by Barry on December 14, 2011

I was thrilled to receive an email today saying that Bookmark is on a short list of nominees for the AppleVis iOS App Hall of Fame which recognizes apps that work well for vision-impaired users. Until I was contacted about a year ago by a vision-impaired Bookmark user (and since than many others), I wasn’t very sensitive to how Bookmark performs when using VoiceOver. Since then, I test it every couple of months to make sure it’s working well.

If you use Bookmark with VoiceOver and would like it to win a spot in the top 8 apps, please vote here: http://www.applevis.com/blog/introducing-applevis-ios-app-hall-fame

P.S. Bookmark is always a work in progress. If you use VoiceOver and find inconsistencies, please let me know at barry@bookmarkapp.com.

Is there any way of viewing the chapter divisions in the file? I am listening to a textbook and would like to jump to the chapter I need instead of plowing through the entire first part of the book.

If you could at least make it so there is an option to jump forward and back to the chapter divisions, not just the bookmarks?

Thank you

The issue is that Bookmark gets its info on tracks from the Music app, and that doesn’t provide chapter info. There is a way to get chapter data for non-DRM tracks and I plan to add that between version 1.7 and 2.0.
