Apple approved Bookmark version 1.2.2 with the following changes:
- Tested on iOS 4: Bookmark has played background audio since version 1.2 so there aren’t any big changes here.
- Long book and track titles scroll for better reading: Titles that are too big to fit in the screen now scroll at the beginning of playback or when tapped.
- Fixed bookmark delete problem in iPad: In version 1.2.1, deleting a bookmark would cause Bookmark to crash in the iPad (although the delete itself would work).
- New sleep timer option: rock the device gently to add 10 minutes: You can now enable a setting called “Sleep Timer rock for +10″ which will add 10 minutes to the sleep timer when you gently rock your iPhone or iPod Touch. It was important to me that you didn’t have to do the violent wrenching action that constitutes a “shake” in iOS. It plays a tone to let you know the time was added.
- Added 1-minute remaining chime in sleep timer: There’s now a gentle chime to signal the timer is close to 0:00 in case you’d like to add time.
- “Playing” button becomes “Last Played” when not playing: This makes the button more useful. If you paused playback, you can get back into the last played track from the library screen.
- Spinning indicator shows new track selection: Just so you know the audio gerbils are working on queueing up the requested track. This is needed more on the 3G than the newer devices.
- Smaller memory footprint: Bookmark now takes a little less space in memory when it’s running which again is most useful for the 3G.
- Fixed shake action inconsistency: There were instances previously when the shake action wasn’t available in the “playing” screens.
- Minor UI changes: No text below the lower buttons in the player screen, modified buttons in the bookmark screen, saving notes is more consistent with iOS standard UX.
The update is free and you can get it in iTunes or on your device via the App Store app.

Thanks for the 1.2.2 upgrades!
The ability to simply rock the iPhone to add minutes is a great idea. I also really like the chime when a minute remains on the sleep timer.
The only think I can think of to make the app even better is if there was some way the app could have a list of “currently listening” items. This list would simply be the audiobooks and podcasts that have a listening bookmark greater than 0 (i.e I have listened to x number of minutes but not yet finished). The reason for this is that many times I have three of four books/podcasts that I am listening to concurrently. It would be nice if the app knew these items that I am currently listening too and made it easy to pick the one I want.
Thanks again for making such an excellent app.
Allen
Thanks! Regarding the current items, you might want to click on the “Recent” label in the library view. That will sort by the podcasts or books you’ve most recently listened to (most recent first). I may incorporate your suggestion in future revisions to make sorting and categorizing more convenient.
